Burgers

You Will Need:

  • 500g of minced beef.
  • ½ a white onion finely chopped.
  • ½ a red onion finally chopped.
  • 1 piece of sliced bread blended to form breadcrumbs.
  • 1 beaten egg.
  • Salt and pepper to season.
  • 4 Burger buns.
  • A bunch of your lovely homegrown freshly cut salad bowl lettuce leaves.
  • Sliced tomato, cucumber, onion, cheese, pickles, ketchup or mayonnaise for serving if required.

How To Make:

In a bowl mix together the minced beef, onions, breadcrumbs, egg and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Separate the mixture into 4 equal amounts and place on a lightly floured work surface so they don’t stick and with floured hands shape into burger patties.

Oil a pan and heat on medium to high and cook the burger patties for 3 – 4 minutes on each side until the juices run clear. If required add sliced or grated cheese to the top of the patties, a dash of water to the hot pan to create steam and cover the pan with a lid until the cheese melts.

Build the burgers by adding a bunch of your lovely homegrown salad bowl lettuce leaves to the base of a sliced bun, sliced tomato, cucumber, onion, pickles, ketchup or mayonnaise if required, a burger patty and the bun top then enjoy!
